The Wackiest And Most Colourful Candidates Who Nearly Stole The Show On Election Night 2015
There was some colourful headwear on show as declarations were made nationwide
Alongside the seriousness of deciding who represents each constituency last night, there was also plenty of silliness from the usual array of wacky candidates.
Standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Ed Miliband and Boris Johnson were some more 'colourful' hopefuls.
Obviously none of them got anywhere near becoming an MP, but they at least won our hearts with their commitment to quirky headwear and costumes.

The man behind the stunt is Bobby Smith, who started his own party, 'Give Me Back Elmo', campaigning for fairer access to his two young daughters. He got 37 votes. David Cameron got 35, 201. Here he is again, listening intently as Cameron delivers his winner's speech:
Elsewhere, there was Alan 'Howling Laud' Hope, leader of the Monster Raving Looney Party, who came dressed to impress.
And let's not forget this delightful candidate above, Dame Jon Dixon of the Monster Raving Loony Party, who took on her political rivals in a resplendent orange and purple number. Here she is again, sharing a joke with the Greens' Caroline Lucas, who held her seat for Brighton Pavilion.
We were also treated to a number of spectacular hats. Check out this couple below - one of whom pulled off a strong photobomb on Ed Miliband.
