They could be living within the crust

There could be aliens living inside the dwarf planet Pluto, Professor Brian Cox says.

The scientist says that data sent back by NASA’s New Horizons probe offered hope that the planet might be able to support life.

There could be an ocean beneath Pluto’s icy, mountainous crust, Cox says - and it might be able to support life.

So far, the probe has only sent back 5% of the data it collected on its ‘fly past’ - and we might be able to learn more in the coming months.

We shouldn’t expect aliens to be anything like us, though, he warns.

Cox told The Times, ‘What science is telling us now is that complex life is probably rare. We’re physically insignificant and yet probably very valuable.’
