Liking Percy Pigs is basically the law in the UK. Seriously, if you don’t get a kick out of biting that little guy’s ears off one by one, did you even grow up here?

So you can see why we’d get all riled up on hearing that there’s another variation of M&S’s iconic sweets.

Spotted by Kev’s Snack Reviews, Percy Pigs Phizzy Chews look utterly delicious.

Apparently, they “have the classic Percy Pig flavours, they’re super-fruity but the coating of sour sugar makes them that extra bit moreish! More so than a regular Percy Pig perhaps. They’re nicely chewy but thankfully not too tough.”

Last year, Percy Pigs came under fire after M&S changed the recipe to make all variations of the gummy sweets vegetarian. According to Percy fans across the country, he just didn’t taste as good as he used to when he was made with gelatine.

At the time, a spokesperson for M&S commented on the backlash, explaining their decision to remove the gelatine. They said: “After a lot of hard work (and tasting) we’ve finally perfected a 100% vegetarian Percy – something our customers have been asking us for, for a while!

“Rest assured we’ve tested the new recipe thoroughly to make sure he’s as close to the original as possible and we have haven’t changed any of the really important things that people love about Percy; the flavour is the same, he still has real fruit juice and never has artificial colours or flavours.”
