These loyal dogs travelled in an ambulance with their injured owner so they could comfort him

A pair of dogs proved they really were man’s best friend when they refused to leave the side of their injured owner as he was taken to hospital.

The dog owner had fallen and injured his head while out on the streets of Chimbote, Peru, and when emergency service arrived at the scene, they noticed his two pets sitting beside him.

Throughout his treatment, the dogs refused to budge and when the man was loaded onto the ambulance, both hopped on board to join him, offering him comfort on his journey.

Paramedics didn’t mind their extra passengers at all and allowed the animals to sit with the man as they made their way to hospital.

And even when they arrived, hospital staff apparently allowed the pooches to stay.

Hospital intern Joha Morillas Zapata later posted pictures of the pair inside the building on Facebook, writing alongside: “Example of loyalty… the patients of the day.”

The condition of the dogs’ owner is not known.
