Thick Smoke Rises as Fawn Fire Rages in California's Shasta County

Plumes of smoke towered over Redding, California, on Friday, September 24, as the Fawn Fire raged in Shasta County. Fire officials on Saturday sad the fire had destroyed an estimated 100 buildings and burned through more than 7,500 acres.

Evacuation orders were in place for several areas.
