Thieves raid Nottingham Costa and steal ridiculous amount of wafers and chocolate bars

Police are hunting down a group of thieves who stole a huge amount of sweet snacks from a Nottingham café. A gang of men walked into the Costa Coffee on Nottingham Trent University's Clifton Campus on the evening of Tuesday, May 21.

They then pocketed £80 worth of crisps, chocolate, sweets and wafers after seeing that no staff or customers were in sight. CCTV released by Nottinghamshire Police shows them go behind the counter and steal a large quantity of snacks, including 25 chocolate bars, 25 packets of crisps, 15 packets, 10 packets of Polo mints and 15 packets of wafers.

Officers believe the same group was responsible for the theft of two bottles of Coca-Cola drinks from a nearby SPAR store around the same time. Police have now released images of a number of people they would like to trace in connection with the incidents.

PCSO Martin Fisher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This type of offending is a blight on society and has a detrimental impact on businesses. We believe the people in these images could have valuable information that could assist our inquiries.

"With this in mind, we’d ask that anyone who recognises them gets in touch with us, so that we can ask them some questions.” Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference 24*332449.
