Nothing goes viral quicker than a so-simple-you-wish-you’d-thought-of-it food hack. So when one Twitter user, TwiteraarTrash Panda, posted an ‘of course that’s what its for’ solution to not having anywhere to rest your messy chopsticks between bites, the internet was thrilled.

The easy hack involved keeping the small wooden block attached to the top of the chopsticks before you break them apart, and using it as a sort of chopstick rest. Simples!

The tweet has been retweeted a massive 3,232 times and liked 3,047 times with chopstick fans taking to social media to offer their gratitude for seemingly solving an eternally annoying, messy problem.

One happy user tweeted: “I had no idea”

While another wrote: “This is the same feeling I got when I discovered the noodle boxes fold out into bowls.”

“This has blown my tiny mind” tweeted another fan.

But not everyone wanted to board the ‘brilliant’ bandwagon.

One skeptic tweeted: “This is being bandied about as ‘the right way nobody knew’. It’s not. Just a clever hack possible on SOME sticks.”

And others complained their sticks just splintered when they attempted to break off the top bit *Sad face*

We guess the only way to find out if it really works is to try it for yourself.

Wagamamas anyone?
