You are everything, Daniel. (Picture: Twitter/Mark Essig)

Flying can be a pretty stressful and traumatic experience if you’re scared of getting in the air.

Sometimes, it might just help to have a thoughtful companion who can guide you through and assure you that everything’s going to be ok.

It’s at this point that we should introduce Daniel the emotional support duck, who was recently seen helping a nervous passenger on a flight from Charlotte, North Caroline to Asheville.

Daniel's job is basically to bring a whole load of joy to passengers. When he's on board he even wears his special tiny red boots as he makes his way up and down the aisle.

But being a duck, Daniel isn’t acquainted for the terrifying sounds of aeroplane bathrooms - so he’s been fitted with his own nappy too.

Daniel’s journey was live-tweeted by author Mark Essig - including an adorable clip in which his handler revealed that the adorable duck was ‘happy’.

He’s also a big fan of looking out of the window, it seems.

Daniel, or Daniel Turducken Stinkerbutt to quote his full name, was first picked up by his owner at his yard sale.

He is everything that is missing from our life. In times of strife, we could all do with a Daniel.
