What did you miss?

Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson made quite a splash as the guest editor and co-presenter of This Morning on Monday, but viewers didn't hold back when they shared their thoughts on her presenting style.

It was recently reported that the Duchess of York would be joining the long-running ITV staple for a trial period – in light of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's well-documented exits – and she wasted no time in stamping her personality on the show, self-proclaiming herself as "the fluff".

She was presenting alongside Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary and Gyles Brandreth. It comes after Cat Deeley made a great impression on This Morning viewers when she presented alongside Rylan.

What, how and why?

Fergie opened the show by standing in the production gallery to reveal that she would be taking calls on love and relationships in a later segment, before rolling the titles.

She then joined hosts Hammond and O'Leary on the main set but it wasn't long before she was causing her own special brand of chaos. The presenter told the TV chef Marcus Bean how "good-looking" he was as he previewed his take on a carbonara dish.

Tutorials on a heart defibrillator and dermatological care also took her attention, before Fergie sat down on the phone lines to share some of that invaluable wisdom acquired over the last 64 years.

Social media was awash with fans reacting to Ferguson's hosting stint on This Morning.

"Really hoping that Sarah is only a very temporary host #thismorning," reacted one social media user, among the comments.

Others added: "Sarah, Duchess of York is hosting #ThisMorning today. Dermot has said to call in to her relationship phone in as she's been round the block. This show is taking chaotic to a whole new level today I can't cope."

"This whole Sarah Ferguson thing is so random and actually quite awkward to watch."

"Sarah Ferguson. Major fail on all levels. How could the execs get this so wildly wrong. Let me know if you need someone to come in and coach you in how to appeal to your target audience."

"Sarah Ferguson is giving relationship advice on This Morning. You couldn't make it up."

And yet, the Duchess was also labelled a "breath of fresh air" and "very down to earth" by others.

"Loved Sarah Ferguson! Breath of fresh air this morning," one fan wrote.

"I really liked Sarah Ferguson as seems down to earth. I just think Alison and Sarah together will be too loud and over the top."

"It's nice to see Sarah Ferguson on the programme."

"Good morning Sarah Ferguson, have a nice day."

What else happened on This Morning?

Oscar-winning actress Ariana DeBose promoted her dream job on Disney's latest animation Wish, which hits cinemas later this month.

The film also features the voices of Chris Pine, Evan Peters and Angelique Cabral.
