Thousands of free pints can be claimed this weekend in Liverpool.

As part of Heineken’s “beer insurance policy”, HeineCare, Euro 2024 fans can get a replacement beer if any of their alcohol spills amidst all the football commotion as England take on Switzerland on Saturday.

To claim the replacement, which is either Heineken or the alcohol-free version, you have to scan a bespoke beer mat or poster found in participating pubs. In Liverpool, Einstein Bier Haus in Concert Square is taking part.

Once scanned, this will take you to the HeineCare homepage, where you will instantly receive a voucher to show bar staff to claim the replacement.

It comes as Heineken has released its take on a poncho, the Pint-cho.

Developed by Amsterdam-based designer rainwear brand Rainkiss, the item is said to be “beer resistant” and therefore perfect for football fans. It is available in two colours, Heineken green and a retro kit-inspired white version, complete with blue and red shoulder stripes.

Einstein Beir Haus will give a number of free Pint-chos to give away alongside the replacement pints.
