Three men have been jailed for raping a woman in an alleyway in east London, the Met Police has said.

The trio ‘took turns’ on the woman after luring her down an alleyway but were spotted by a security guard on CCTV who alerted police.

The three appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on March 13 after they had been found guilty in January in what the police called an “atrocious” attack.

Miguel Clino, 20, of Norfolk Road, Barking was sentenced to eight years imprisonment, Devon Cato, 20 of Boundary Road E13, seven years, and Nizandro Caimanque, 21, of Central Park Road E16, seven years after they raped a woman repeatedly in Barking town centre last year.

Detective Sergeant Harry Nunez from the East Area Serious Sexual Offences Team said: “This was an atrocious attack on a young woman who was targeted and subjected to sustained, serious sexual violence.

“I would like to recognise the victim’s bravery who has supported this investigation throughout.

“The actions taken early on in the investigation by police to secure key evidence such as forensics and CCTV were also key in building a conclusive case against the evil men responsible for this horrendous and sickening crime.”

At around 6am on July 10, 2022 the woman was walking through Barking town centre when she was approached by the three men.

The men coaxed the victim into a nearby alleyway where they raped her repeatedly. The survivor had no recollection of the attack following the incident.

A security guard witnessed the attack and called the police who after viewing CCTV footage and using forensic equipment, arrested the three and charged them within 48 hours of the attack.
