Thunderstorms with heavy rain and lightning worked their way over Utah’s Tooele and Salt Lake counties in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 30, according to the National Weather Service.

Josh Hammond, a resident of West Jordan, Salt Lake County, captured some of the lightning on a home-security camera, which was rattled by the booming thunder that followed.

Hammond said the storm swept through just after 4 am and knocked a lamp post out.
