What time McDonald's and Greggs will be open this May Bank Holiday

The early May bank holiday weekend has arrived, meaning many shops, restaurants and pubs will be expecting an influx of customers over the next few days. However, the bank holiday also means there will be some changes in opening times.

Some of the most popular fast food chains in the UK include the likes of McDonald’s and Greggs. There's sure to be plenty of people treating themselves to a McDonald’s breakfast or sausage roll over the weekend.

But, it is always worth checking which branches near you will be open - and most importantly, when. McDonald’s and Greggs will both be open for business with its usual hours on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5.

The chains have also confirmed they will be open on Monday, May 6 also. Here’s what you need to know.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s branches are open 24 hours a day in some locations, with most opening between 5am and 6am for breakfast service. If your local McDonald’s restaurant doesn’t operate a 24 hour service, closing time will typically be between 10pm and 12am.

McDonald’s confirmed that its restaurant operating hours will run as usual on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. Opening hours will differ for the May bank holiday, advising people to check out its restaurant locator about their nearest branch.

Greggs

Greggs will also be open this May bank holiday. Usually branches open anywhere between 6am and 7.30am in the morning. Closing times do vary from shop to shop, but most shut around 6pm. However, some branches can be open as late as 11pm.

Greggs confirmed it would be “resuming bank holiday trading hours across the estate”, with its Shop Finder updating opening hours automatically to reflect any changes in opening times.
