It is time to vote for your favourite Isle of Wight pub – to have it claim the illustrious Country Press’ Pub of the Year crown.

The nominations are in and the window to vote has been set.

Whether it is because of its friendly welcome, pub menu, service, or because you simply enjoy the atmosphere, vote for your favourite hostelry.

The top ten pubs in the running, as chosen by County Press readers over the past few weeks, are as follows:

  • The Sportman’s Rest, Main Road, Porchfield

  • The Castle Inn, High Street, Ryde

  • The Bugle Inn, High Street, Brading

  • The Vine Inn, Avenue Road, Freshwater

  • The Vine Inn, Upper Green Road, St Helens

  • The Hogs Head, High Street, Newport

  • The White Hart Inn, Main Road, Havenstreet

  • The Star Coffee and Ale House, High Street, Ryde

  • Caulkheads, Avenue Road, Sandown

  • Newport Ale House, Holyrood Street, Newport

Voting coupons will be in the paper on May 24 and 31.

Last year, Ventnor’s Crab and Lobster Tap claimed the coveted title.

In 2022, the Island venue underwent a makeover and came out all the prettier – sporting blue and yellow paintwork in solidarity with Ukraine.
