Timelapse Shows Typhoon Mawar Hitting Guam

Guam Gov Lou Leon Guerrero said the US territory was in the clear on Thursday, May 25, after Typhoon Mawar, which regained strength as it left the region, battered the island on Wednesday.

Timelapse footage posted on Thursday by Steven Apsley shows the storm affecting Tumon Bay in Guam.

“You can see where the wind got strong enough to flex the window the GoPro was up against,” he said.

The Pacific Daily News reported islandwide water outages. Guam’s power authority said it was working to restore electricity, which was knocked out for most customers. Credit: Steven Apsley via Storyful
