Timelapse Video Shows California's Sand Fire

A brush fire that began in northern Santa Clarita on Friday, July 22, spread to 20,000 acres on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft are fighting to keep the blaze under control. Around 1,500 homes were forced to evacuate in Sand Canyon and Placerita Canyon roads, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department said that other people in the area should also be prepared to evacuate.
