Yahoo News Tinashe Reveals New ‘Quantum Baby’ Album Will Arrive in August
Tinashe is keeping the momentum of “Nasty” at all an time high with a new album, “Quantum Baby,” due out on Aug. 16.
Tinashe released her new song “Getting No Sleep” on Friday with a “Mad Max“-themed music video that allow the sultry song’s lyrics — “So I’m like, ‘How does it feel to be fuckin’ with me?’ / ‘And how does it feel to be the one that I’m fuckin’ with?’ — and Tinashe’s buttery vocals to shine. The song was produced by Nosaj Thing and Billy Lemos, with lyrics by Tinashe, Nosaj Thing and Lemos.

“Quantum Baby” is the second installment in a trilogy behind Tinashe’s 2023 album, “BB/ANG3L.” It was her first record under Ricky Reed’s indie label Nice Life Recording Company. It also follows her dazzling breakthrough single, “Nasty,” which caught on fire online and became Tinashe’s first solo hit on the Hot 100 chart. Easily a song of the summer contender, “Nasty” is also a No. 1 song on streaming, having hit the peak of Spotify’s Global Viral 50 and US Viral 50 charts, as well as No. 1 on the Apple iTunes R&B and Soul Songs chart.
On “Quantum Baby,” Tinashe said, “Quantum Baby is about getting to know me on a deeper level. It’s about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist. I’ve never been one to be put into a box, so the name Quantum Baby encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative”.
Tinashe most recently appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to perform the song, and followed-up with the release of a “Match My Freak” remix EP.
