Tiny Devon ice-cream hut on sale for whopping price
A tiny ice-cream hut is up for sale for a cool £1.5million in a picturesque seaside village overlooking the popular celebrity destination Salcombe.
Listed by Savills under the property name The Old Stable, the building measures just 19.7ft by 14.4ft - just two-thirds of the size of a standard double garage.
The sale, however, does come with around an acre of golden, sandy beach (at low tide). The plot is in the affluent village of East Portlemouth in south Devon, which has a population of just 157 people as of 2021.

The stone-built former stable, which has been run as a seaside café for years, sits beside a jetty which offers fabulous views across the Kingsbridge Estuary to neighbouring Salcombe. Ferry trips operate all year round to the adjacent town, dubbed 'Chelsea-on-Sea' as it has become a hotspot for A-listers.
The beachfront property was originally built as an old stable to accommodate horses travelling long distances, reports the MailOnline. It now sits on a prime piece of seaside real estate, with visitors flocking from across the country to enjoy the Devonshire charm during the summer.
Amy Hart, property agent at Savills, which is marketing the kiosk, said: "Without doubt, this is my favourite stretch of coastline. Just imagine owning those golden sandy shores gazing over to Salcombe. How special."
According to Rightmove, property prices in East Portlemouth skyrocketed by 117 percent last year, with homes selling for an average of £3.8 million. Meanwhile, over the water in Salcombe, homes sell for an average of more than £1 million.
The seaside kiosk was previously owned by Rufus Gilbert, a Conservative councillor on Devon County Council. He bought it 40 years ago before transforming it into a successful beachside café.
Also available by separate negotiation, as Lot 2, is a single garage located a short distance into the village from The Old Stable. To enquire about further details, visit the Savills website.
