Manchester City can lay down an early marker in the Premier League title race this weekend, as they travel to Fulham at Saturday lunchtime.

The advantage remains with City in the title race right now, with Pep Guardiola's side still just two points behind Arsenal with a game in hand – but they have a good opportunity to put more pressure on their title rivals with a win against mid-table Fulham early this weekend.

City have a full squad to choose from ahead of the game, with no injury concerns whatsoever, so Guardiola will be able to tailor his lineup however he likes.

So, can City take another step towards the Premier League title at Craven Cottage? Let's take a look.

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Fulham could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Leno; Castagne, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Lukic; Iwobi, Pereira, Willian; Muniz.

We predict that City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol; Rodri, De Bruyne, Kovacic; Foden, Haaland, Doku.

City had to endure a pretty nervy first half in the simulation, with Fulham putting in an excellent performance both in defence and attack, with the home side looking pretty comfortable in defence while offering a real threat on the break. Marco Silva's side could only generate a few half-chances though, and City had openings of their own, but Doku and Kovacic couldn't beat Leno.

Unfortunately for Guardiola's side, that trend continued in the second half, with the game being really short of clear-cut chances due to the way Fulham were setting up their side. In fact, the closest either side got to scoring was a free kick from Andreas Pereira, which whistled just over Ederson's bar in the 81st minute.

It was a disappointing draw for City which, if this happened in real-life, would give Arsenal a big boost in the title race.

This EA FC 24 simulation shows that City will need to be at their best to beat Fulham this weekend, and not take them lightly, as they could prove to be a stern test, particularly at Craven Cottage.
