TK Maxx, Homesense, Tesco and Aldi 'do not eat' warnings as teas, wraps, kebabs and meat products recalled

Teas, wraps, kebabs and meat products are the latest products to be recalled by major retailers over health and safety fears.

Shoppers are being urged to check their cupboards, fridges and freezers after food items were pulled from the shelves by TK Maxx, Homesense, Tesco, Aldi and Morrisons. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issues recall alerts for a variety of reasons, including when products contain allergens that are not disclosed on the packaging or if plastic is detected in the item.

One of the latest items is being recalled because it was found to contain insects while another has been possibly contaminated with E. coli. When a product is recalled, for any reason, the FSA shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the item has been pulled from sale.

Meat and Meat Products

The FSA said meat and meat products supplied by a cutting plant in Swanley, Kent, should be removed from the market because of food safety concerns. The watchdog has alerted Environmental Health and Trading Standards Services to take action to remove meat and meat products manufactured by Block and Cleaver from the market.

These products which have been supplied to food businesses in London and the South East of England 'may not have been produced in accordance with GB food law requirements and therefore may be unsafe'.

A spokesperson said: "These products may have incorrect use by dates, are subject to traceability breaches, may not have been manufactured in accordance with food safety management systems and may be unsafe. They should not be eaten.

"We are asking food businesses such as restaurants, cafes and hotels to withdraw from sale any meat or meat products supplied by Block and Cleaver because they are unsafe to eat. Products should be disposed of safely.
