TK Maxx and Homesense are urgently recalling selected batches of tea products which are riddled with insects. Certain batches of Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas have been contaminated by these insects making them unsafe to consume.

There were three types of Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas that were contaminated - 'Calm & Relax', 'Chamomile' and 'Sleepy'. They were on sale between April 2024 and June 2024.

The Calm & Relax flavour was hit the worst. Their 60g packs were found to have insects in them in the batch codes 6057, 6071, 6118, 6126 and 6207.

Finally, the Chamomile 40g packs were also flagged for insect contamination. The batch codes in question are 5887 and 6111.

One of the following product codes will have been printed on the price ticket and your receipt if you bought one of these dodgy batches - 588071, 588077, 588093, 645328, 645336, 645338.

If you find you have bought one of these Kintra Foods Organic Premium Leaf Teas and the batch number matches one of these, stop using it immediately and do not consume the tea. Instead, return them to any TK Maxx or Home Sense store for a full refund. For further information, contact TK Maxx/Homesense Customer Services on 01923 473561 or customerservice@tjxeurope.com.

The government-run Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued product withdrawal and recall information notices to inform shoppers and local authorities. TK Maxx and Homesense said point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products. Please see the attached notice.
