Jenny Agutter claims Tom Cruise has been "ruining" 'Call The Midwife' filming.

The 69-year-old actress - who plays Sister Julienne in the popular TV drama - revealed she and her co-stars are regularly having to reshoot scenes because of the sound of the action star flying himself onto the nearby set of 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two', with both projects being filmed at Longcross Studios in Surrey.

Jenny told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Tom Cruise keeps on ruining our filming by landing his helicopter right outside where we’re shooting.”

Asked if she planned to give Tom a telling off, she added: “In my habit! Imagine. ‘Excuse me Tom, but look we’re trying to film. I don’t know about you, but just get your helicopter out of here quickly’!’”

But Jenny may want to speak to Tom to pick up some tips because, having played Councilwoman Hawley in 'Avengers Assemble' and 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', she admitted she'd like to do more work in action films.

She said: "I’d love to go back to Marvel again, that would be fun. I really want to get involved with the stunts.”

The team have been working on the 'Call The Midwife' Christmas special and Cliff Parisi - who plays Fred Buckle - recently declared it will be "raining babies" on the 25 December episode.

He said: "There's lots of babies. It's raining babies at Christmas. Raining babies. So watch it on Christmas Day. Don't forget to watch it.

"It's going to be a very, very special episode. The series is great. I think it gets better every year."

The show's team recently shared a first-look at the Christmas special by posting a picture of three of the castmembers - Leonie Elliott (Lucille Anderson), Helen George (Trixie Franklin) and Megan Cusack (Nancy Corrigan) - having a snow ball fight.

They added in a Twitter caption: "Christmas Special Exclusive: Snowball fight!! Our ladies prepare for the forthcoming festive season special in traditional winter fashion!”

They followed it up by teasing in a post on Facebook which read: "We’re delighted to confirm that the results of our team’s hard work on the Christmas Special is looking FANTASTIC, and we just can’t wait to show you more – so stay tuned to this page, as we start to get ready for our brand new special, and Series 12!!!”
