Veteran singer and The Voice UK coach Sir Tom Jones has famously wanted nothing to do with his son, Jonathan Berkery, who was born from a brief affair in 1987.

Berkery has told his story to the Daily Mail, explaining that he has struggled to makes ends meet and has come into trouble with the law.

Despite living a hard life and not receiving any money from Jones since he was 18, Berkery has said that he still wants to connect with his father.

"I'd like to talk to him about normal stuff, like, 'How's your life been? This is mine,'" he said.

"I used to imagine waiting for him to swivel around on his chair, then seeing me and I'd put up my middle finger.

"I even used to think about going to one of his concerts and disrupting it. But that really isn't me."

Berkery went on to say: "I just thought, now that my father's wife has passed, he might see me. He's getting old and he could be ill. I want to see him before it is too late.

"I don't want to spend my life regretting that I never made an attempt to contact you both and I would love to hear his side of everything or just have a real conversation."
