Tom Parker's widow Kelsey has shared a message about it being the first father's day without her husband.

The Wanted singer died in March after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2020 and shared two children with his wife.

Sharing a message on Instagram as well as video of herself with their children, Kelsey wrote: "I had an inbox full of lovely messages before 9am this morning and I can’t tell you how much it helped me put on my best smile and get up this morning.

"Father’s Day is not easy for everyone but it’s a chance to celebrate all the amazing Dads out there including Tom and celebrating him is currently my favourite thing to do."

Kelsey has also been writing in OK about her father's day experience with her two children: "Aurelia’s nursery school has asked me about making cards and they said 'we know she will be able to cope with making a card' and she talks about her dad to them, so I’m more than happy for her to make a card for her dad."

She added: "In years to come I think it will get harder for the children. This year where they’re young and they don’t really understand it, in years to come we will make it a celebration.

"It will be hard for me, but for the children I don’t think it will be as hard this year. As they get older they’ll ask more questions about father’s day."

Kelsey also recently spoke about her grieving process and how she is trying to be strong for their children.

She said on Instagram: "They wake up happy, they wake up in a good mood so then I can’t be sad. And he wouldn’t us to be sad and mourning. Don’t get me wrong, I get my bad days, of course, I do. At night it is lonely, I am lonely, but this is my life, I have to get on with it."

The two originally married in 2018 after meeting outside of a nightclub.
