Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City news for Sunday, June 9.

Cardiff interested in Poveda

Cardiff City are among a clutch of clubs interested in former Leeds United forward Ian Poveda this summer.

The 24-year-old is a free agent following his release from Elland Road this summer, and a number of clubs are now believed to be keen on securing his services.

According to Football League World, West Bromwich Albion, Sheffield Wednesday, and Luton Town, are all keen, meaning the Bluebirds may have to work hard to get a deal over the line.

The Colombian spent the second half of last season on loan at Wednesday, helping Danny Rohl's side secure their Championship status, having previously made just 30 appearances for Leeds since arriving in 2020.

Oxford target Vaulks

Former Cardiff City midfielder Will Vaulks is reportedly a target for Oxford United this summer.

Vaulks has enjoyed two successful seasons at Sheffield Wednesday, but could well be on the move in this window due to his current contract situation.

The 30-year-old has been offered a new deal by the Owls, but an agreement is yet to be reached between the two parties.

According to the Sheffield Star, there is no shortage of interest in the Wales international, whose Championship experience has made him a potentially attractive option.

Having secured their promotion to the second tier, Oxford believe he could be a strong acquisition, and a move to the Kassam Stadium would see Vaulks link up with a number of former Bluebirds.

Ciaron Brown, Mark Harris and Joe Bennett are among the current crop of U's to have plied their trade in the Welsh capital. As is winger Josh Murphy, whose brace at Wembley inspired them to a play-off final win.

Colwill poised for international night

Rubin Colwill could well be involved for Wales again tonight as they bid to bounce back from Thursday's disappointing draw with minnows Gibraltar.

The Cardiff City forward played 60 minutes for what was a hugely disappointing 0-0 draw with the side ranked 203rd in the world, a night that saw Wales booed off by their own fans.

Rob Page's men will look to bounce back in Trnava tonight against a Slovakia side looking to apply the finishing touches to their Euro 2024 preparations.

It's likely that Page will pick a stronger XI than the one that took to the field in the Algarve, and it remains to be seen what sort of role Colwill will play in this latest fixture.
