Here are your Swansea City headlines for Sunday, June 30.

Third bid lodged for Eom Ji-sung

Swansea City have reportedly lodged a third bid in the hope of snapping up summer transfer target Eom Ji-sung.

It's understood the 22-year-old winger has emerged as a key transfer target for the Swans this summer. And he was left out of the squad today for Gwangju's clash with Jeju, fuelling the claims that he is heading to south Wales.

Gwangju's manager said of his omission: "With Eom Ji-sung, no need to overthink it. I've made a decision based on players who will be leaving and players who will be remaining. Regarding Eom's transfer, it will only be official once the medical and other formalities are completed. It’s not yet confirmed."

Korean outlet Sports Seoul claim a bid has been accepted for Korean star Eom to transfer from Gwangju to Swansea in a deal claimed to be worth $1.2million (£950,000).

It's understood those reports are wide of the mark, although Swansea maintain a firm interest in he player as they pursue forward reinforcements ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The report claims that Swansea first had a $700,000 (£550,000) bid knocked back before then seeing a $1m (£800,000) offer rebuffed.

Reports also claim that the Swans sought advice from former midfielder Ki Sung-yong with regards to the player's technical ability and received a glowing reference.

Gwangju recently confirmed they would not stand in the way Eom's desire to fulfil his dream of playing abroad. A spokesperson for the Korean side told MoneyS on Friday: "We are well aware of Eom Ji-sung's strong will to advance overseas. The club also has no intention of blocking Eom Ji-sung's overseas advancement for the player's future."

Swansea manager Luke Williams has already confirmed he is willing to look at the global market to secure signings this summer, with Brazilian winger Ronald having proven a hit since arriving from Portugal back in January.

Swans linked with Oxford striker

Swansea have also been linked with Oxford United and Wales striker Mark Harris.

The former Cardiff City forward, who hails from Swansea, banged in 19 goals during his debut season at the Kassam Stadium, playing a big part in earning the club promotion to the Championship.

And now The Sun's Alan Nixon claims Swansea are keen on adding the 25-year-old to their striker roster this season.

However, reports of Swansea's interest in the striker have been played down to WalesOnline.

Four players to become free agents

Four of Swansea's senior players will become free agents at midnight.

Jamie Paterson, Przemysław Płacheta, Liam Walsh and Nathanael Ogbeta all see their Swans deals run out come close of play this evening, meaning they are no longer contracted to the club.

Luke Williams has spoken about wanting Paterson to stay on, but has also said that the club won't wait around for ever for him to make a decision.

“[The contract offer] won’t be there indefinitely because potentially players will arrive at the club and the landscape will change,” Williams told the BBC.

“But Pato knows exactly what he is doing and we are happy with everything at the moment. He falls into that category that he is now a senior player. They have a different outlook on life and they have earned the right to have more choices in their life.

“I don’t know, but if I had to guess, he will have been in contact with different people [at other clubs], or through his agent, because he has been playing Championship football for a number of seasons and doing it pretty well. We will see in the coming weeks what the decision is.”

Meanwhile, a new deal for Placheta has not been completely ruled out, either, with Williams saying of the Pole: "“We are still in contact with Przemy - we still have a duty of care. He sustained an injury playing for us and we have to look after him now – we have to honour that.

“I don’t think the door is completely shut on Przemy. I think he played some brilliant football for us and he helped to reinvent the side a little bit.”

Wednesday sign Lowe

Sheffield Wednesday have announced the signing of former Swan Jamal Lowe.

The 29-year-old was a free agent after running down his contact at Bournemouth, and spent the season on loan at Swansea City.

There had been some suggestion that the Swans might be interested in tying down the Jamaica international to a permanent contract this summer, although it appears they were unable to meet the forward's wage demands. There was no such barrier for the Owls, however, who have announced the striker as their fifth signing of the summer.

Speaking on the club’s official YouTube channel, he said: “Obviously, I’ve known how big the club is, how big the fan base is and what else pushed it is the ambitions of the new manager and how active he is, how ambitious he is and how his thought process works and that was another major key of coming down.

“I spoke to him [Danny Rohl] a few times before coming down and everything is so positive and it sounds exactly how I want to play. It’s the same style of play I want to be involved in, it’s the ambitions I want to be involved in, so it was a no brainer really. Once I heard the words come out of his mouth as well, it’s something I want to be a part of and repay his faith that he is putting in me.”
