Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Thursday, June 13.

Williams - Swans won't wait forever on Pato

Swansea City boss Luke Williams says the club won't wait around forever on Jamie Paterson to make a decision on signing a new deal at the club. But he insists Paterson has earned the right to weigh up his options.

The 32-year-old is a free agent when his current deal expires at the end of the month, and the club are keen on keeping at SA1. Paterson himself has previously indicated he would like to stay, but despite there being an offer on the table, he is yet to sign a new contract.

And Williams admits there could well be other clubs sniffing around and monitoring the situation.

“[The contract offer] won’t be there indefinitely because potentially players will arrive at the club and the landscape will change,” Williams told the BBC.

“But Pato knows exactly what he is doing and we are happy with everything at the moment. He falls into that category that he is now a senior player. They have a different outlook on life and they have earned the right to have more choices in their life.

“I don’t know, but if I had to guess, he will have been in contact with different people [at other clubs], or through his agent, because he has been playing Championship football for a number of seasons and doing it pretty well.

“We will see in the coming weeks what the decision is.”

Swansea 'in a good place' on recruitment

Luke Williams says the club are making good progress in their summer recruitment drive.

Several players have been linked with possible moves to SA1, but there is nothing imminent in terms of arrivals, with the transfer window set to officially open tomorrow. However, Williams remains upbeat about the work completed by the club so far.

“We are in a good place in terms of information on players - the depth of the list of players we are looking at is impressive,” Williams told BBC Sport Wales.

“Of course, now we need to start trying to get the nitty gritty in terms of some of the players who have clearly ticked all the boxes and we are very interested in.

“That brings a whole new set of complications because there are other clubs involved and a lot of things for these players to try to weigh up. It’s a huge decision to sign for a new club.

“It’s something similar to buying a house – offer, counter-offer and bluffing. All of this is going on and it’s all normal. But as we approach the business end of the summer, we will start to close in on targets more accurately.”
