Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Tuesday, June 4.

Ipswich targeting Rushworth

Swansea City could be facing a potential blow in their hopes of bringing goalkeeper Carl Rushworth back to the club.

According to Darren Witcoop, via FLW, Premier League new boys Ipswich Town are eyeing up a move for the Brighton and Hove Albion loanee, who enjoyed a hugely successful spell in south Wales on loan last season.

Swans boss Luke Williams is keen to keep hold of the 22-year-old for another season, but has also admitted that the chances of it happening appear to have diminished on the back of his antics for the Swans last season.

It's understood a decision on what will happen next is unlikely to be made until Brighton have appointed a successor to Roberto De Zerbi, who left the club at the end of the season.

McBurnie linked with Turkey

Oli McBurnie could be on his way to Turkey.

Turkish outlet Milliyet claims Super Lig side Trabzonspor are keen on the striker, who could well be available for nothing this summer, with his contract at Sheffield United set to expire.

The Blades have already confirmed they are looking into the possibility of handing a new contract to the former Swansea City star, but there is yet to be a breakthrough at the time of writing.

Players return to Fairwood for tests

A number of Swansea City players have returned to Fairwood this week for mid-break testing and training.

Andy Fisher, Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes, and Josh Tymon are among those to have been put through their paces on the training ground this week, with another small group of players set to come back in next week for similar assessments.

It's understood Luke Williams is keen to ensure his players are staying on track in terms of fitness over the summer period as he bids to ensure his squad hit the ground running when they return for pre-season next month.

The Swans are set to head out to Austria for a pre-season camp later this summer, where they will play two games, both of which are likely to be against continental opposition.

“I have given the players four weeks where they can relax," Williams told the BBC recently. "Then they have to commit to three days in the middle of the off-season where they are going to come in,” the Swansea head coach explained.

“We will work them and see where they are. If there are things that are deficient – many players have one leg stronger, quads, hamstrings, their pelvic tilt is out of line - we can try to identify things that are going to be a timebomb.

“Then they have another three or four weeks to try to make corrections before pre-season starts.”
