When is the final season of Top Boy streaming on Netflix?

Top Boy is coming to an end after 12 years, with the final slew of episodes ready to watch now on Netflix.

The drama was originally released on Channel 4 but was dropped after two seasons before the streamer revived the show in 2017 for a further two.

The current set of episodes are be the show's fifth season and its third with Netflix.

Top Boy is set on the fictional East London estate Summerhouse, and it follows an array of characters and the dramatic events that take place as they pursue greater wealth and power through a life of crime.

What is the plot?

The final season will once again follow Dushane (Ashley Walters), Sully (Kane Robinson) and the rest of the Summerhouse gang trying to better their lives on the estate. Together, duo Dushane and Sully continue to pursue their goal of building a drug empire - but this lofty plan is not without consequence.

As their wealth and power begin to grow, the pair earn targets on their backs and are forced to face enemies new and old in order to survive.

The final season will also beg the question of whether the partnership between these two friends can continue or if there can only be one who ultimately lands on top.

Who is in the cast?

Walters and Robinson will once again lead the cast of Top Boy, and they will be joined by Simbiatu Ajikawo AKA ‘Little Simz’, Jasmine Jobson, Araloylin Oshunremi, Natalie Athanasiou ‘NoLay’, Saffron Hocking, Joshua Blisset and Adwoa Aboah.

They will be joined by newcomers to the series Barry Keoghan and Brian Gleeson.

Is there a trailer?

A trailer for the last series of Top Boy was released on Monday, 14 August which shows the dramatic events that are set to plague Dushane and Sully.

The preview also showed a brief glimpse of Keoghan's new character and featured intense scenes including apparent fighting against police.
