Touched by an Angel actress Della Reese dies

Legendary singer-turned-actress Della Reese has died at the age of 86.

Reese's Touched by an Angel co-star Roma Downey released a statement confirming the news earlier today (November 20).

"On behalf of her husband, Franklin Lett, and all her friends and family, I share with you the news that our beloved Della Reese has passed away peacefully at her California home last evening surrounded by love," the statement reads (via Deadline).

Della Reese was renowned for her artistry in jazz, gospel and pop music in the 1940s and '50s, before she moved into television in the '60s.

As well as hosting her own talk show called Della, Reese starred in movies including Harlem Nights and Expecting Mary, as well as the long-running CBS series Touched by an Angel.

Passenger Bus Crashes Into Saint Petersburg River
A bus crashed off a bridge and into the Moyka River in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Friday, May 10, with local police saying around 20 people were on board.Local media reported that at least five people died, with four “seriously injured”.
