Whovians, Doctor Who is back for its 60th anniversary episodes with the return of David Tennant and Catherine Tate as the Doctor and Donna Noble exciting fans everywhere. But, who is the Toymaker?
The BBC sci-fi series released its the second of three special episodes, titled 'Wild Blue Yonder', on 2nd December and they teased the return of an iconic villain played by Neil Patrick Harris.
So, before new episodes drop (can't wait!), here is everything you need to know about Doctor Who villain, the Toymaker.
Who is the Toymaker in Doctor Who?
The Toymaker, also known as the The Celestial Toymaker, is an immortal entity who forces his victims to play a series of difficult games and tricky challenges, with the outcome deciding whether or not they will remain his toys forever.
He first appeared in Doctor Who all the way back in 1966. Here, the first Doctor, played by William Hartnell, defeated the villain, then played by Michael Gough (Batman Forever and Batman and Robin), but now, he is returning to cause more havoc for time and space.
Neil Patrick Harris is taking on the role of the Toymaker, in the episode titled 'The Giggle' which will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from Saturday 9th December.
The episode synopsis reads, "The giggle of a mysterious puppet is driving the human race insane. When the Doctor discovers the return of the terrifying Toymaker, he faces a fight he can never win."
In teasers for the new episode, we see the villain cause trouble for Doctor who is set to regenerate, with Ncuti Gatwa taking on the role next. Can't wait!
