Traditional Irish sports bar opens in city centre

A new Irish sports bar named Dicey Reilly's has opened on Wolstenholme Square.

The 2,500sq ft venue seats 120 guests with a standing room holding an additional 50 people. The modern, quirky venue opts for a mix of emerald greens, light and dark wood finishes, and some industrial touches giving a nod to the classic Irish pub.

The venue will show a full sport schedule including football, rugby, Gaelic football and hurling, golf, racing, boxing and F1.

Dicey Reilly's boasts 10 Ultra HD TVs and four snugs with private screens that accommodate up to eight people and can be pre-booked for big sporting occasions.

Live music will entertain customers Friday to Sunday with a selection of home-cooked pub grub favourites including loaded wedges, a selection of pies, burgers and freshly made sandwiches available.

General manager Joe Reilly said “We wanted to create an Irish bar in a modern setting whilst still being true to traditional Irish culture, we are striving to bring the old and new together in one venue. We are in the heart of a residential area of the city centre with over 450 apartments in Wolstenholme Square alone, we want to become a hub for the community as well as a good old-fashioned local.”
