A traffic warden in Birmingham was pulled from his moped and attacked by a gang of youths who then stole his vehicle.

Police are searching for the five men following the violent attack in the Alum Rock area of the city on 14 September.

Shocking video footage shows the warden being attacked by the youths in broad daylight as he went about his job.

He was taken to hospital and according to West Midlands Police, he did not suffer any serious injuries.

A 20-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and police have released images of the remaining members of the group they are looking to trace in relation to the incident.

Detective Sargeant Tom Lyons said: “I was absolutely furious when I saw the footage.

The level of violence used is truly shocking and I know every right-minded person who views it will share that anger.

“We’ve already spoken to the victim. CCTV and other enquiries have already begun, but people in the community will know who these men are. I’d urge them to examine their conscience and do the right thing and give us the names.”
