Tragedy as body found in search for missing man Joseph Weech 40 miles from home

A body has been found in the search for missing man Joseph Weech.

Joseph, 25, was reported missing from the Bierley area of Bradford over the weekend and West Yorkshire Police launched a search for him. Sadly, a body has now been found in Manchester.

Formal identification is yet to take place but Joseph's family have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time but enquiries are ongoing.

West Yorkshire Police said: "Police searching for missing man Joseph Weech in Bradford have found a body in Manchester. Although formal identification hasn’t taken place, his family have been informed.

"Enquiries are ongoing but at this stage his death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course."

At the time Joseph was reported missing, police said they were concerned for his welfare. A description of Mr Weech was issued and the force confirmed he had links to both north and south Wales, in particular Aberystwyth.

No location of where he was found has been made public by police.
