NET has been forced to change some of its tram services due to protesters gathering outside the venue of the BBC's general election debate in Nottingham. Dozens of protestors are gathered on Goldsmith Street outside the Newton Building, which is playing host to the head-to-head debate between Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak tonight (June 26).

Nottingham's tram operator has now confirmed that the protest has forced a change to its schedule. NET posted on X: "Owing to a large crowd gathering outside of the Nottingham Trent University, we have no service between Old Market Square and The Forest in either direction. Updates will follow when available."

The protestors are gathered close to NET's stop at Nottingham Trent University. The large group nearly drowned out the Conservative and Labour leaders during the first 10 minutes of the BBC's debate.
