Transfer news, rumours LIVE: Arsenal clear to sign £45m Malcom as Tottenham end interest, Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United latest

Welcome to the London Evening Standard’s LIVE coverage of the winter transfer window.

Business hours opened in the United Kingdom on January 1, with Barcelona completing the signing of Philippe Coutinho for a whopping £146million.

That deal came after Liverpool made a huge, early move of their own with the £75million signing of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.

With Manchester City leading the Premier League by a whopping 15 points, their rivals may opt to try and buy their way back into contention - with Manchester United aiming to hijack their move for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.

Arsene Wenger has signed Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos and confirmed Valencia have signed Francis Coquelin, while Chelsea sealed a £15m deal for Ross Barkley last week.
