Trend spotted as hundreds of Pink fans arrive at Anfield

A popular trend was spotted outside Anfield Stadium as Pink fans arrived in abundance.

The 44-year-old American pop star is taking to the stage tonight, Monday, June 24, for the first of two performances of her Summer Carnival tour. The mum-of-two will be entertaining tens of thousands of fans with her catalogue of hits including So What, Just Like A Pill, Raise Your Glass and Just Give Me A Reason.

It is Pink's first time performing in the city in five years, after another incredible gig back in 2019. She will be supported by The Script, who are fronted by former The Voice judge Danny O'Donoghue.

As fans eagerly awaited for doors to be opened, the ECHO headed down to see what music lovers had to say beforehand - with one trend being spotted every time you turned a corner.

Fans had gone as far as dying their hair than no other colour than pink.

Mollie Ellis, 20, and Lauren Williams, 19, were amongst the many fans who did so. The friends, from North Wales, travelled just over a couple of hours to see the musician for the first time.

While Mollie changes the colour of her hair regularly, Lauren was convinced to dye hers for the first time just for the occasion.

Nathan and Martin Grundy-Chalmers, from Blackpool, were also seeing Pink for the first time. The couple, who have been married for a decade, dyed their yesterday different shades in preparation for tonight's performance.

Martin said dying his hair is "nothing" to him, in comparison to the tribute tattoo he has on his back. The ink is a nod to Pink's song, F**kin' Perfect.

Debbie Rigley, 58, and Linda Crowson, 60, from Nottingham, were also outside Anfield. The two friends were kitted out in matching outfits as they celebrated Linda's milestone birthday.

As well as having the same top and camouflage pants, they also opted for the same hair colour to show their love for the singer.

Linda, who has already seen the singer just last year, said she was looking forward to hearing the new album, especially the song TRUSTFALL.

For anyone interested in last-minute tickets for tomorrow's performance, you can find them here. Your ticket will determine your entrance point. Ticket holders must enter at the turnstile designated on their ticket.
