Tributes continue to pour in for former Nottingham Forest striker Kevin Campbell after death aged 54

Tributes are continuing to flood in for former Nottingham Forest footballer Kevin Campbell. Kevin, who spent three years at the City Ground, died on Saturday, June 15 at the age of 54 following a short illness.

Kevin started his football career as a trainee at Arsenal before making his senior debut in 1988 against Everton. He had a number of productive loans with Leyton Orient and Leicester City before settling at Highbury.

The striker went on to score eight times in 10 matches when Arsenal won the First Division title in the 1990/91 campaign. In total, he scored 60 goals in 224 appearances for the Gunners, before leaving Arsenal in 1995 for Nottingham Forest.

He spent three seasons with Nottingham Forest and later returned to the Premier League with Everton, going on to become an iconic figure at Goodison Park. Kevin also scored in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool in the 1999/00 campaign and went on to finish the season as the club's top scorer.

Following the announcement of his passing, Nottingham Forest took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay tribute to Kevin. The club wrote: "Everyone at Nottingham Forest is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin Campbell. Kevin spent three seasons at #NFFC and was part of the side which earned promotion from the First Division as champions in 1998.

"Our thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time." Arsenal Football Club also posted a tribute, stating: "We are devastated to learn that our former striker Kevin Campbell has died after a short illness.

"Kevin was adored by everyone at the club. All of us are thinking of his friends and family at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Kevin."

After his career playing football, Kevin went on to work for Sky Sports. The broadcaster has shared several tributes to Kevin across their X account, describing him as "a legend who will never be forgotten."

Speaking to Sky Sports, former Nottingham Forest manager Dave Bassett also paid tribute to Kevin. He described him as "a goal machine."

Adding: "He was such a smashing fellow. Basically, since leaving Forest and going on, whenever I have come across Kevin and we've spoke to other people, there's never been a bad word by anybody so I think that's a testament to the man."
