Trigger Point has been confirmed for a second series next year, seeing Vicky McClure return to her starring role in a bomb disposal squad.
ITV's drama about Lana Washington (McClure) and her team of bomb disposal EXPOs working for the Met Police concluded last night (Sunday) with an announcement that it would be back for more in 2023.

Viewers discovered that Lana's mysterious love interest Karl Maguire (Warren Brown) was the disgruntled former soldier behind the bombings in a tense ending that saw her have to hold Karl's thumb down on an explosive trigger as he was shot dead.
The gripping series was written by Daniel Brierley and produced by Jed Mercurio, who created Line Of Duty where McClure also stars in a police role.
Next series will run for six episodes again and will air on ITV in 2023.
McClure retweeted the ITV announcement that the show would return, with a series of celebratory emojis.
One fan responded: "Absolutely loved it...cant wait for 2nd series."
Another viewer who had enjoyed Lana's close friendship with colleague Sonya (Kerry Godliman) added: "Incredible first series! Looking forward to the next. Hoping to see more of Lana and Sonya #lanya"
Someone else wrote: "Such fab news. You were amazing Vicky really brill as Lana."

Nearly 11 million viewers have watched the first episode of Trigger Point and the series is currently averaging 9.24 million viewers for episodes one to four over ITV, ITV Hub and BritBox.
