Truro High School for Girls has been awarded the status of World Class School.

The prestigious acknowledgement confirms the school’s position as a national leader in teaching.

It makes Truro High only the third girls' school in the UK to achieve this status.

In receiving this honour, Truro High joins an elite group of schools from across the world recognised for their excellence in education.

An accredited World Class School, Truro High has demonstrated advanced practices in contemporary learning and made a substantial impact on student achievement.

The school's world-class status signs off a two-year process to incorporate the High Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy and framework.

Aimed at equipping each student with superior cognitive skills alongside essential values, attitudes and attributes, HPL sets the benchmark for lifelong profitability.

Headmistress Sarah Matthews said: "I am delighted that after our recent accreditation inspection, Truro High School has been awarded World Class School status, an accolade reserved for the most successful schools working with the High Performance Learning group."

She expressed gratitude towards the "diligent work of the staff and students" in engrafting the HPL philosophy, asserting it as pivotal for their pupils to become successful learners in any field and take control of their learning and professional development.

Ms Matthews continued: "We are already seeing an impact in school, enhancing the already celebrated positive learning culture that Truro High School is widely known for".

Acknowledging its benefits, she also highlighted HPL's focus on individualised learning paths, the fostering of academic confidence and the permeation of these values into the school’s ethos.

The HPL philosophy encourages students to "break their own glass ceilings," building academic confidence and fearlessness in learning.

She continued: "We are already seeing an impact in school, enhancing the already celebrated positive learning culture that Truro High School is widely known for, but with HPL the sky really is the limit"

The World Class School title follows a thorough inspection, which commended the school's high aspirations for all its students and the evident impact of HPL across the institution.

Pupils were praised for their resilience and growing independence, qualities that were observed throughout the school.

The High Performance Learning philosophy utilises a unique teaching and learning framework to recalibrate the school and enable students to develop the necessary skills and attributes for high academic performance and lifetime success.

Since launching in 2016, HPL has transformed the lives of over 80,000 students and has made its mark in over 100 schools in 15 countries.
