Turkish singer Hacer Tülü has been killed in a shootout at a nightclub in Bodrum.

The popular performer,40, was one of two people killed in the attack at Club Medusa at the popular resort town.

According to local media, the four attackers were detained by police in Manisa province three hours after the attack.

Their motive is unclear.

Local newspaper Birhaberoku reported the singer was at the nightclub when a car pulled up outside and opened fire.

Ms Tülü was killed along with Mehmet Ali Sürensoy, the owner of the entertainment venue.

Four others were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are now investigating the incident.

Ms Tülü was a model and actress as well as a singer.

Her most popular song Ömür Törpüsü has over four million views online.
