A TV production village has popped up in Acocks Green today (June 27) in the same month it was announced a new BBC drama is filming in the city. Dozens of trailers, vans and gazebos were spotted at the former Sparkhill Harriers car park next to Fox Hollies Leisure Centre on Shirley Road.

The trailers are owned by a firm named Movie Makers whose logos could be seen on the vans. According to the company's website, Movie Makers are 'specialists in providing location facility vehicles to the film and TV industry.'

The appearance of the production village comes just weeks after it was announced a new Birmingham-based BBC drama named 'We Go Again' was filming in the city, exploring black working-class life. Filming for the show is currently underway in Birmingham and Coventry, though it is unclear whether the crews in Acocks Green belonged to this production.

We Go Again, a working title, is written by British playwright Janice Okoh. The show, which is filming now, comes from Ackley Bridge producers The Forge Entertainment, and will feature newcomers Chenée Taylor, Kaydrah Walker-Wilkie and Akins Subair as the three siblings Tiana, Tanika and Tionne.

The comedy drama about three siblings with a dark secret is due to be released on on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in 2025. Producers have so far remained tight-lipped about specific filming locations. The show has been billed as 'human and tender, with a thumping great heart.'

Birmingham has previously been a favored location for various film and TV productions. Last year, crews were spotted shooting opposite Damascena in Jewellery Quarter with Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner reportedly on set.

In the same year, TV crews appeared in Sutton Coldfield ’s Sutton Park working on the second series of DI Ray.
