TV star Helen Skelton says 'goodbye' as she announces huge life update

Helen Skelton has bid "one last goodbye" to the house she once shared with her ex-husband, rugby player Richie Myler. The 40-year-old television presenter, who parted ways with Myler in 2022, took to Instagram to share a poignant moment as she farewelled their Yorkshire home.

In a touching video post that includes a glimpse of a fox in the garden, Helen remarked: "Hello, you. I know it doesn't feel that long ago I can remember the sound of foxes mating in those trees. Now we've got a little friend. Bye then! Saying bye to the house. (sic)".

Captioning the emotional farewell, Helen wrote: "One last goodbye old friend." The split was publicly announced by Helen in April 2022 through a social media statement where she disclosed that Richie had "left the family home".

On Instagram, the former 'Blue Peter' star expressed her sadness: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children. [broken-heart emojis] (sic)".

Later, in her autobiography 'In My Stride', Helen opened up about the shock she felt at the dissolution of their marriage, stating: "I was in shock." She reflected on the common disbelief people experience after a separation, saying: "I know that following break-ups, people often say they didn't see it coming and it sounds like a cliche, but that was me."

Despite the end of their marriage, Helen hopes that Richie will continue to play an active role in their children's lives. She expressed: "I want them to know that we loved each other, but things change and that's OK, too."
