Twitter appears to have removed Donald Trump’s account from searches of several derogatory words such as ‘bigot’ and ’racist’.

The US President’s account previously turned up at the top of the list when searches of such terms were carried out by Twitter users.

While some of the more offensive terms no longer bring up Trump’s account, searching for ‘tiny hands’ still does.

The results are thought to be the result of algorithms linking what people are tweeting about in relation to Trump’s account.

Trump’s rival in the Presidential race, Hillary Clinton, was reportedly also linked to search terms such as ‘corrupt’, that also appear to have been tweaked.

Twitter has not made any comment on the issue.

Following Trump’s inauguration last week, the new Commander-in-Chief took over the @POTUS Twitter handle from his predecessor.

Barack Obama’s presidential tweets are now archived under the @POTUS44 account and he has returned to using his personal @BarackObama handle.

Numerous other social media handles relating to the Obama administration have been mothballed for posterity in the same way.

While Trump now has the password to the @POTUS account, he also continues to tweet from his @RealDonaldTrump account as well.

Earlier this week, a hacker revealed a massive security flaw in the @POTUS twitter account, as well as @VP and @FLOTUS – those used by the Vice President and First Lady.

The hacker, known has WauchulaGhost, warned that the accounts had not enabled a secondary security step that requires the user to provide a mobile phone number.

The @POTUS account was also found to be linked to the personal Gmail address of Trump’s head of social media, but has now been updated to a White House address.

Last week, The New York Times reported that the President was forced to hand over his old Android phone to the Secret Service in favour of a more secure, encrypted handset.

However, this week, the NYT followed up on the story saying that Trump is still using “his old, unsecured Android phone, to the protests of some of his aides”.
