EXPERTS from the Antiques Roadshow will be at Poole RNLI’s Lifeboat Festival later this month.

Adam Schoon and John Foster, from the hit BBC show, will join the RNLI’s heritage team to evaluate resident’s RNLI memorabilia or lifeboat ‘treasure’.

A spokesman from the RNLI said: “As part of the RNLI’s 200th anniversary, we invite you to share your RNLI related antiques and collectibles with us.

“From gallantry awards to fundraising mementos, or lifeboat relics to family photos and scrapbooks, we’d love to celebrate your hidden treasures from the past 200 years.

“Our professional evaluators will aim to provide a history of the item and an informal valuation during the Lifeboat Festival."

Those interested should apply by Friday, May 10 at www.rnli.org/poolefest24.

Poole RNLI will be hosting the event on the weekend of May 18 and 19.

The weekend will include behind the scenes tours, capsize demonstrations in the sea survival centre, launch and recovery demonstrations and interactive workshops.

There will also be live music on a centre stage and refreshment stalls.

As part of the event, Poole Quay will also see a host of activity with Poole Quay Boat Haven hosting historic RNLI lifeboats and international visiting lifeboats.

The festival will close at 4pm Sunday with a parade of sail including many historic RNLI lifeboats, the current RNLI fleet, and visiting lifeboats from other countries.
