Two bikers have been hospitalised after they were involved in a crash on a busy road in Somerset. Police were called to reports of a crash involving two motorbikes near Bath around 12.45pm yesterday (Sunday, May 12).

Officers from Avon and Somerset Police assisted the ambulance service and closed Lansdown Lane to allow emergency crews to treat the two victims.

Both riders were taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not thought to be life-changing or threatening.

An eyewitness said they saw ambulance crews at the scene of the crash. They said: “Lansdown Lane coming out of Bath was closed yesterday afternoon around 1.30pm. Ambulance were there”

A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called by the ambulance service shortly before 12.45pm on Sunday 12 May to a report of a collision between two motorbikes on Lansdown Lane.

“Officers attended and closed the road to allow colleagues from the ambulance service to treat the two riders. Both were taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. The road was reopened by 3pm.”
