Toddler Heroin Death: Parents In Court

The parents of a toddler who died of a heroin overdose have appeared in court charged with manslaughter.

During a 10-minute hearing, Emma Bradburn, 33, and Simon Jones, 29, spoke only to confirm their names, date of birth and gave the same address in Penn, Wolverhampton.

They are also accused of causing or allowing the death of their 23-month-old son, Daniel Jones.

He was pronounced dead when paramedics were called to a house in the city at 6.15am on May 29.

Daniel's death was initially treated as unexplained by police but forensic tests showed he died from a heroin overdose.

Bradburn and Jones, who were arrested on Wednesday, indicated they would enter not guilty pleas.

There was no application for bail and they were remanded in custody.

They are due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 7 for a plea and case management hearing.
