The crew of Danny Boyle's new feature film are on the lookout for two newborn babies.

Filming for 28 Years Later - the Oscar-winning director's sequel to his 2002 virus-zombie hit 28 Days Later - began in Northumberland this May, and a host of locals have been needed to take part in the shoot. There was a massive response to the appeal to find hundreds of extras needed for filming, with roles up for grabs for outdoor types ranging from gardeners to wild swimmers.

Following the initial call-out for fit and outdoor-loving extras to join the cast ahead of the start of work in May, there came a further appeal to find the likes of ultra-marathon runners, serious cyclists and triathletes. Then, last month, tiny babies, ideally twins who could role-share were also wanted.

And now, Candy Marlowe, second assistant director in charge of the film's crowd scenes is looking for two more babies - this time newborns. The crew is urgently seeking two newborn babies for shooting in the Newcastle area in the next few days. The filming will be for two days and the babies ideally need to be around 6lbs, of either gender, who look tiny and new born.

Parents who would like to put their baby forward for the film, can apply here.
