Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien was left seeing the funny side after sharing some words of advice she received from her daughter. The actress shares teenager Scarlett with her ex and former ITV soap co-star Ryan Thomas.

And Scarlett has followed in her parents' footsteps as some may recognise her from Waterloo Road. She joined her uncle Adam Thomas in the reboot of the BBC series last year, playing his character Donte Charles' daughter, Izzi, alongside her cousin Teddy Thomas, Adam's son, who is playing Donte's son, Tommy.

But away from her first-ever TV role, it appears Scarlett is on hand to keep her mum, famed for playing Sarah Barlow in Corrie, up with the latest trends.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (June 26), Tina shared a glimpse of a WhatsApp conversation between herself and Scarlett. It appeared the soap star, 40, had sent her daughter a photo, showing her the shoes she was wearing.

In a separate message, Tina asked: "Is [this] how young people are wearing them? With socks?" But Scarlett was brutal in her response, telling her mum: "Young people arnt wearing them shoes but yes they'd wear em with socks if they were to ahahah," (sic).

Tina responded to the teen with a string of crying laughing emojis before sharing the exchange to her Instagram followers and telling her Instagram followers: "Well that's me told," alongside a crying laughing emoji and a red love heart before tagging Scarlett in the post.

It comes after Tina said she was 'so proud' as she shared a rare message about her daughter. Back in April, , was seen out with her other uncle Scott Thomas as he helped launch the most recent series of Channel 4's The Piano in Manchester city centre. A seven-metre piano was rolled out on the floor of the Arndale Centre, accompanied by a baby grand piano for stars and members of the public to play tunes on.

TV star Christine McGuiness, Hollyoaks star Georgie Porter, from Trafford and Love Island All Stars champion Molly Smith were among the celebrities also involved as well as Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts, from Bolton, and The Traitors runner up Jaz Singh.

But as Scott took part in the event, he roped Scarlett into a song with performer Danny Wilsher, who appeared in series one of The Piano. Together, Scarlett and Danny performed a version of Shallow from A Star is Born with Scarlett wowing the growing Manchester audience with her vocal talents.

Scott was ever the proud uncle as he watched in awe before he filmed Scarlett in action and the crowd's reaction before posting it to his Instagram Story. The clip also got back to an equally proud Tina who shared it with her followers on her Instagram Story.

She tagged her daughter before writing: "Super proud mum," while former Corrie star and Dancing on Ice 2024 winner Ryan also shared his public praise.
