Two Yorkshire chippies named among the UK's best for fish and chips by the sea

Two Yorkshire chippies have been crowned some of the best to visit for fish and chips by the sea.

Betway has carried out a study of the best chippies by the sea. The popularity of each location was measured by a score index. It is based on the number of hashtags and views each business has racked up on Instagram, as well as TripAdvisor rankings.

The top 12 in the UK have been released. We have two entries from Whitby in the rankings.

Trenchers, in Whitby’s New Quay Road, placed fourth overall. Another Whitby favourite, Magpie Café, which is famous around the region for their fish and chips, is ranked seventh on the list.

If you fancy visiting the best, Oban Seafood Hut is Scotland took top spot for the best chippies by the sea.
